has been offered an operation, but has declined it; we do not
press it on him, but the medical authorities consider no other
form of treatment would be of any use. Our regulations do not
allow of our training him, as he has rejected the idea of being
trained for anything but pharmacy or medicine, and the former
is his former occupation and the latter involves a longer period
of training than we can give. His case was, however, brought
to the notice of the Lord Kitchener Memorial Fund, with the
result that a scholarship was granted him, of which it now
appears he is not availing himself.
